Some Good News

With all that’s going on in the world, I’ve found that news channels can provide a wide variety of information. In many cases I’ll turn on the news and it’s nothing but bad news. In addition to bad news, there’s also the reality that there is sometimes "fake news".

One thing that I’ve appreciated from this pandemic is that people’s creativity in quarantine seems to have really come out. We’ve seen a lot of churches find creative ways of sharing the Gospel online for example.

However, one thing that I’ve enjoyed was the creation of a famous celebrity named John Krasinski.  He created an online short news show called “Some Good News”. His intent is to draw more attention to the good news happening in the world. He’ll do news stories about people that do kind acts. He talks about those that are finding ways to be helpful during this crisis. He’s also found ways of cheering people up who have had bad times. It’s a refreshing concept because as I said, a lot of our news is unfortunately either overly negative or a good bit of fake news mixed with the truth. It’s news like this that gave people hope during times of concern.

In the religious world we have a mixture of all the types of news that I mentioned. There’s some bad news that we ought to be made aware of. Unfortunately though, sometimes there’s a lot of fake news that’s said in regards to spiritual things.Ultimately, we need to realize that there’s also some good news that needs to be shared.
